Category: Construction and Evaluation
The Construction and Evaluation (C&E) division of the Architect Registration Exam (ARE) assesses a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the construction process, including the principles of building materials and systems, as well as the ability to evaluate the performance and condition of existing buildings. This division includes six sub-tests that cover topics such as building systems, building codes and regulations, construction documents and services, and building and site design. The C&E division is typically taken after the candidates have passed the Project Planning and Design division and is considered one of the most challenging parts of the ARE. Successfully passing this division is a requirement for licensure as a registered architect.
