Category: Project Management
The Project Management division of the Architect Registration Exam (ARE) assesses a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the management aspects of the architectural design and construction process. This division includes three sub-tests that cover topics such as project development and documentation, construction and evaluation, and operation and maintenance. These sub-tests are designed to evaluate a candidate’s ability to manage projects from concept to completion, including the ability to create and review project documents, coordinate with stakeholders and consultants, manage project budgets and schedules, and oversee the construction process. The Project management division also covers the responsibilities of an architect during the operation and maintenance phase of a building. Successfully passing this division, along with the other divisions, is a requirement for licensure as a registered architect.
